What devices does Base Layer support?

Base Layer is available for iPhone and Apple Watch. It requires iOS 17 or later and watchOS 10 or later.

Does Base Layer require Apple Health?

Yes. Base Layer integrates with Apple HealthKit to read your workout, heart rate, HRV, and sleep data. You'll be prompted to grant access when you first open the app.

Is my health data shared with anyone?

No. Your HealthKit data stays on your device. When the AI coach needs context, it works from health summaries — never raw data or personal identifiers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How does the AI coaching work?

Base Layer's AI analyzes your training patterns, readiness signals, and goals to provide personalized plans and insights. You can chat with your coach in natural language — ask about your readiness, request workout swaps, or report injuries.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes daily readiness scoring, limited AI coaching, and basic workout generation. Pro ($4.99/mo) unlocks unlimited AI coaching, deep analysis, full workout generation, and capability tracking. Every new user gets a 10-day free trial of Pro.

Can I use Base Layer without an Apple Watch?

Yes. The iPhone app works on its own using HealthKit data. The Apple Watch adds real-time heart rate monitoring during workouts, but it is not required.

What fitness apps and devices work with Base Layer?

Anything that writes to Apple HealthKit works automatically — Apple Watch, Strava, Peloton, Oura Ring, WHOOP, Garmin, Nike Training Club, and more. No extra setup required.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account and all associated data through the app's settings under the "Me" tab. You can also email us to request data deletion.
